Order steps for furniture to upgrade
Global Steps
- 33% of the amount is paid upfront* before starting the preliminary search (via Interac transfer or cash payment to info@decorustic.com).
- 3 to 4 weeks before the project’s completion: a search in our inventory or for similar furniture to upcycle is conducted based on your needs. We also accept furniture you already own (see the "Your Furniture" section).
- Once the furniture is found, sanding, repairs, painting, staining, distressing, and/or varnishing/lacquering is done to match your preferences.
- We deliver the furniture, or you can pick it up yourself.
*For custom orders, the initial deposit may vary between 33% and 80%, depending on the project.

We will need the following information:

- Width
- Height
- Depth
Important Features
- Number of doors?
- Number of drawers?
- Number of shelves?
- On the floor or on legs?
- Colors (paint, stain, distressing)?
Furniture Search/Shopping
If you plan to supply the furniture, proceed to the next step.
Furniture shopping for upcycling is based on your general criteria and is included in the online price.
As a guideline, shopping costs around $15/proposal (hourly rate: $60/hour).
If we cannot find suitable furniture, we will deduct the cost of the proposals from your 33% initial deposit and refund the difference.
The refund is adjusted based on the number of proposals. See return and exchange policy.
Typically, 1 to 6 proposals are made per piece, depending on the budget:
- $1 to $300 = 1 proposal
- $300 to $550 = 2 proposals
- $551 to $900 = 3 proposals
- $901 to $1250 = 4 proposals
- $1251 to $1500 = 5 proposals
- $1501 and above = 6 proposals
Your Furniture
If you supply the furniture, the online price will be reduced by $10 to $300.
This reduction depends on several criteria:
- Type of furniture
- Extent of repairs/restoration needed
- Dimensions
- Pickup or self-delivery

Discount for Multiple Orders
For combined orders, a bulk discount may be applied depending on the total volume.
Timeline for Search/Upcycling/Fabrication
The timeline typically ranges from 5 to 14 weeks, depending on our workload.
Ordering multiple pieces at once only slightly increases the timeline.
Costs for Accelerated Timelines
+5% for 10% faster completion
+12.5% for 25% faster completion
+20% for 40% faster completion
+30% for 60% faster completion
+40% for 80% faster completion (rarely possible)
